76ers(15-6) @ Hornets(10-11)[Preview]

Philly comes to Charlotte for the third time this year tonight as the Hornets try to get to back to .500 for the Season. The last two matchups were pretty damn ugly for the Hornets but both games were really early in the season and the Hornets seem to have grown together as a unit since then. Buttttt we also had Terry and PJ for those two games which we will not have tonight. That means we need Moist Monk to stay wet from 3 and will probably need the Martins to eat some minutes.

Embiid and Zeller will be something. We’ll see if Zeller can do anything to mitigate what Embiid has been doing to the rest of the league, but that’s unlikely. Tobias Harris really gave the Hornets issues in the past; I think that most likely continues unfortunately. The Hornets are Hot as shit though, so we’ll see if we can beat the leading eastern conference team, Leaving Boston as the only winning team in the east we have not beat this year. (we haven’t even played them though)

Charlotte Keys

LaMelo pestering Simmons – If LaMelo can get in Simmons’ head and force him to make some bad turnovers it could help keep Embiid from influencing the game too much

Shut Furkan Korkmaz down – Don’t know shit about this guy but he has the name of a player who has a random 30 point outing against us. Insert a put a cork in him or Fricking Fucking Furkan here.

Philadelphia Keys

Embiid – yeaaa he’s really big and really good

Prop Bets HugoCLT’s Overall Record  (11-5)

Furkan Korkmaz OVER 7.5points (-120)

Miles Bridges OVER 11.5points (-120)

Gordon Hayward OVER 24.5points+assists (-125)

Hornets-129 Heat-121 [Wrap-up]

3 in a row! All three wins versus 2020 playoff teams to boot (wtf are the origins of this saying(it’s not interesting something about ye olde English law)). Malik Monk had a career game, including 36 points on  61% shooting from the field. Monk looked as confident and comfortable as I have ever seen him in the NBA. We needed Monk to make up for Rozier being out with an ankle injury, we really fucking needed Monk when PJ went down in the second half. Monk had our back. Hornets’ players being able to catch fire might be one of this teams’ greatest strengths. Bridges, Ball, Graham, Rozier, Hayward and now Monk have all had games where they went TF off and took over, most of the time from 3 point range too.

I did think Jimmy G(g stands for gets) Buckets had us in the fourth quarter when he rattled off 4 shots in a row immediately followed by a 3 from Duncan Robinson, putting the Hornets down 10 with 3:49 left in the game. Monk followed with an and one that caused Spoelstra to call a time out and design a play for Herro to hit a 3, which he did. Gordon had enough of Herro so he decided to bully the shit out of him on the next two possessions for two easy layups. Heat missed a few more threes (died by it last night), Graham hit a 3 and pair of free throws that brought the game to within 3 with 38 seconds left. Iggy missed a three and the Hornets headed the other way. Borrego made a smart move in letting the guys have 10 or so seconds of run to see if they could get an open shot. Even though the Hornets didn’t get a clean look and had to call a timeout this was one of the smarter moves Borrego has made this year, especially considering Spoelstra is on the other side. Borrego drew up a play for Monk that worked to perfection, and Monk and his steel balls tied the game up at 113. Butler settled for a 3 and missed it to end regulation.

OT was rather chill for the Hornets. Hornets started off with a dime from Ball to Zeller, then bullied Herro some more, then made we last 4 free throws to wrap up the game.

-Eric Collins and Del are a delight to listen to on the broadcast

-Confident Malik is here to stay

-Random ass Max Strus lit us up for 19 points, but we still won, because Monk lit them up more. Is Max Strus Big Truss????

LaMelo started off slow but did not let it ruin the rest of the game for him. 3 TOs in the first half, 0 in the second. Ball once again showed us his ability to affect the game in other ways than scoring.

Hornets(9-11) @ Heat(7-12)

Don’t let the heats record fool you, they lost 8 of 10 with Jimmy Butler out. They won their first game with Jimmy back and he was great so the Hornets will have their handful. That’s OK though the Hornets should still have some momentum after beating two of the best teams in the east. Terry is most likely going to sit tonight(ankle) so we may finally get a starting lineup that includes LaMelo Ball. It should be a no-brainer to slide LaMelo into the Lineup with Terry out, but Borrego seems to have a knack at pissing off us Hornets fans.

The Heat usually put out a small ball lineup, which helps the Hornets a lot because we only play one big man lately. Herro and Ball is the matchup I am looking forward to watching the most. Both players are swaggy and will do some things on the court most other players wouldn’t even thing of doing. LaMelo should be feeling himself coming off his best performance of the year against the Bucks on Saturday. If PJ and company defend Jimmy Butler well then the Hornets have a great chance at making it 3 in a row.

Charlotte Keys

LaMelo – If LaMelo starts and plays well so will the Hornets. I know revolutionary thinking here, but it has to be said when talking about such a polarizing player

Shutting Duncan Robinson down – Duncan Robinson’s release is fast as fuck, Hornets closeouts are slow as fuck….

Bench Scoring – with Terry most likely out the bench will need to pick up some of the slack, Malik and Miles specifically

Heat Keys

High pressure defense – This young Hornets team seems to waiver a bit when teams get in their face defensively

Outcoaching Borrego – Spoelstra is a much better coach especially when it comes to game to game/ quarter to quarter adjustments. Which probably will not allow us to on as long of runs as we have enjoyed the past couple games

Prop Bets HugoCLT’s Overall Record (9-5)

Jimmy Butler OVER 20.5points (-111)

Cody Zeller OVER 8.5rebounds(-141)
