Draymond Green kicked the shit out of the Hornets in a game where we started Cody Martin in place of the injured Cody Zeller. Kind of a weird move for Borrego to start Martin over Bridges, especially considering LaMelo and Miles chemistry. Oh well we got out played by a team that is better than us, and got exposed for our lack of size again. Draymond had 19 fucking assists and Curry went off for 29 points, It should not be a big surprise the Hornets lost the game but it should piss us off tha Kelly Oubre added 27 points. It’s one thing to let the stars get their buckets, and sometimes that even works; it’s another thing to let the other team shoot over 60% from the field. The only positive defensive take i can have is that the press at the end seemed to create some turnovers and confusion for the Warriors.
-LaMelo and Monk continued their hot streaks with 20 point games
It’s been a while, but the Hornets status has pretty much remained the same, playing really well but staying right at one game under 500 for the year. After we beat the Timberwolves, we got outplayed by the COVID ridden Spurs, which ultimately caused the Hornets to miss the next two games (and caused me to be lazy and slack on the blog, my B…). That was followed up by Scary Terry taking a dump on the Curryless Warriors’ chest with his scoring and game winner about a week ago. Utah continued to be a brutal matchup for us and dominated us from the start to finish of the game. Moist Monk was on fire against the Suns, and LaMelo took over at the end of the game to lead the Hornets to victory over the #4 seed in the west. All in all not too bad, and a very Hornetsy west coast road trip so far.(these late ass games are killer.)
All that brings us to Warriors matchup tonight, which should be more difficult than the last matchup assuming Curry’s vertigo doesn’t return. The Warriors will have Wiseman back in the Lineup but when it comes to the 2020-2021 Warriors everything starts and ends with Steph Curry. Steph has been averaging 7 points more than his career average while remaining just as efficient as ever. Since Steph stopped rocking his goofy ass looking braids he has been unstoppable and the Warriors have looked kinda like the Warriors we have come to know and lose to. Fortunately for the Hornets and the rest of the league, instead of KD and Klay backing Curry up it is Kelly Oubre and Andrew fucking Wiggins. This should not scare anybody but the two have played well enough to keep them in games and allow Curry to win a bunch down the stretch. That said, Fuck em’, not scared, LaMelo and Gangerrrr are on a tear and I don’t expect them to slow down anytime soon. LaMelo should have the Warriors questioning the Wiseman pick by the end of the game tonight.
Hornets Keys
Moist Monk – It’s hard to lose a game when you have a guy scoring 30 points off the bench, looking for Monks streak to continue
LaMelo – We have now seen LaMelo swag out against a number of very good opponents, hopefully he has a little extra for Curry and the team that passed on him to draft Wiseman
Play great defense or Score the shit out of the basketball – The majority of the Warriors wins come when they score between 110-120. Idk wtf that means but if we don’t let the warriors score in that range then I bet we win.
Warriors Key
Steph Curry – Looking forward to hearing his pops Del call this game.
Terry fucking Rozier dropped 41 points shooting 65% from the field and led the Hornets to a win, once again putting us one game away from .500 on the season. LaMelo was the second leading scorer and lead the GAME in rebounds with 11. The first quarter was the only quarter we actually lost, but it was all uphill from there. It was great to get a win even when the other teams best 3 players all had over 20 points. Their role players didn’t really do shit and we outrebounded them by 15.
-Great team win
-Shutting down role players allowed us to win
-Terry went tf off and won this game
-Hornets did not panic when the game got a little too close
-Closed out the game and beat a team that is a lot better than their record shows (KAT)
