Trade a Small Human(s) for a Large Human(s) [Take]

hmmmmm i’ll take one Bol Bol please

The Hornets have been healthy as hell all year long, but we still lack bigs. I just can’t bring myself to hoping this roster stays intact for a playoff “run”. We are just too damn small. I don’t even know what trade I’m necessary looking for but we gotta do something here Mitch (Kupchak). Devonte’ is still out with a groin issue so there is not necessarily a complete log jam at guard but when he returns there will be. At the 1 and 2 we have Lamelo, Devonte’, Rozier, and Monk; one of them has to go in the somewhat near future. We clearly don’t trust Richards or Carey and both Biz and Zeller(our only two players taller than 6’7”) are off the books next year too so we HAVE to fucking do something, preferably soon.

We play a Zone more than anyone in the NBA, having two little guys on the perimeter is probably not the best idea, especially when we suck at closing out on shooters as a team… This leads me to thinking Terry or Devonte’ need to be traded. Terry has 2 years left and Devonte’ contract is up after this year. If we can get a promising young big we probably need to trade Terry, for contract matching purposes. If we trade Devonte’ we would also have to include somebody else because he is on a MLE… Fuck this is kinda brutal, maybe I should layoff Mitch. I would rather Trade Graham or Rozier but lets see if a Monk trade makes sense… Probs couldn’t get shit for him either because his contract is up after this season.

Ok here’s my take we need to re-sign Devonte’ and Monk ASAP and trade Terry…. I Love terry but that’s about the only way I can see us add a meaningful big before the playoffs… I’ll lay off Mitch in the interim because this is clearly not an easy decision. Maybe we should/should’ve played our two young bigs(Richards and Carey Jr.) to see what we had?!? Nah that makes too much sense for chinless Borrego.

Borrego looks like such a weenie with no beard, I wouldn’t shave it either.

Hornets(12-13) @ Grizzlies(9-10) [Preview]

Had to add an extra picture up top, in a second you’ll understand why I couldn’t have Diets’ ass up top

The Southeast Division leading Hornets are headed nine and a half hours west on I40 to face off against what’s left of the Grizzlies (or a 1.5 hour flight but that’s not as fun). The Grizzlies have 7 “players” listed as out for tonight’s game, none of them are COVID related either, yeeeeesh. Lead athletic trainer for the Grizzlies, Jeff Diets, is probably feeling about as comfortable as he looks in his Linkedin profile pic.

The reduced roster works in our favor as for the second game in a row the Hornets are playing a team with only one real big man, NO Kyle Anderson doesn’t count as a big man and NO Gorgui Deng doesn’t count as a player in general. This should allow the Hornets to play their game and win this one to get back to .500 on the season. The Hornets got smacked by the Grizzlies early as hell in the season but those were different times, we only had half a big man at the time and he(Bismack) started. That said, I do not look forward to watching Kyle Anderson euro step past shotty defense at a clip of 4 inches per hour. Anyone else ever notice how slow and methodical Anderson moves? It’s very frustrating to watch him because it feels like everything he does is either a travel or delay of game or something, but it’s not. I’m not scared of this matchup at all because Zeller is back, LaMelo is feeling himself, and moist Monk is wet.  the Hornets should beat the Grizzlies ass. Devonte’ is out this game, so Borrego will not have any difficult decisions to make, which also plays  in our favor.

Charlotte Keys

Gangerr – Monk has been a consistent bucket off the bench, and Miles hasn’t been too far behind. If LaMelo and his gang(err) are on tonight the Grizzlies don’t have any shot. “my youngin quick to shoot, he gotta stupid jumper”-LaMelo Balls most recent instagram – Rio Da yung OG.

Big runs – This feels like a game where a long ass run could demoralize the Grizzlies.

Memphis Keys

Ja – Hornets fans should remember Ja hitting the game winner against us in Charlotte last year, he’ll need to do something similar in this one.

Ja’s game winner all over our asses

Xavier Tillman – Xavier who? Exactly my point, it’s been a few games since we let a random ass player drag his nuts all over us.

Prop Bets HugoCLT’s overall record(16-9)

Gordon Hayward OVER4.5assists (+102)

Cody Zeller OVER21.5points+rebounds+assists (-119)

Jonas Valanciunas OVER2.5assists (+127)

Rockets(11-11) @ Hornets(11-13) [Preview]

The Rockets are coming off a loss in their first game without Christian Wood since he came onto the scene and onto half the league. DeMarcus Cousins will start in Woods absence, which is a statement that would have confused the shit out of people 4 years ago. Cody Zeller will most likely come out ahead in the matchup against Boogie, another sentence only made possible by Cousins’ body giving up on him. I believe that the Rockets have been frauds so far this year and that the league will catchup to Christian Wood’s game fairly quickly kind of like Whiteside… People act like he’s a rookie where sky is the limit, which is just not true for the 25 year old. The Hornets are coming off of an easy victory against the shitty Wizards, after losing their previous two games to the top team from each division.

Devonte’ is day to day with his hip injury, so I would guess LaMelo gets the start again in tonight’s game. It will be very intriguing to see if LaMelo stays in the starting lineup once the whole squad is healthy (he should, it’s time). By the way, Tyrese Haliburton fans need to chill the fuck out, he’s not better than LaMelo, and he never will be. At least wait for Tyrese to lead LaMelo in rebounds, assists, steals OR points, all of which he trails Melo in. I’m going to need that to happen before I waste another sentence on that bullshit.

Charlotte Keys

Take advantage of matchups – size wise this is the best matchup we’ve had all year so we better take advantage of that, especially with Wood out.

LaMelo – If LaMelo starts and plays well we win this game.

Houston Keys

2010 Kentucky Wildcats – we’ll see if Boogie and Wall can turn the clocks, Louisville alum Terry Rozier might have something to say about that. (This felt so weird when I made it red)
